Hi guys, it's now a proven fact based on various studies and analysis: I blog more when the exams are around the corner. Probably cuz anything is more fun and exciting than studying - that includes spending time in the kitchen brewing lousy coffee for staying awake(ironic huh)

and with that in mind, oh wait, i need to take a shit first. brb... (rushes to the WC to bomb Nagasaki)

Man, i'd better lay off on the chilli, can't even sit properly now.. OK ANYWAY, as i was saying, i have come to learn (the hard way) that coffee is a very dangerous substance. If consumed excessively, it will lead to a very uncomfortable aftermath. let me explain further.

You drink a cup of coffee to keep yourself awake for whatever reason. You do your thing, and start to feel tired, and naturally, you get yourself another cup of coffee and the same thing happens after awhile. After you're done with your duties, you reward yourself with some well deserved slumber. but wait, you're really tired and sleepy and you're dying for some sleep, but the caffeine is still in your body working its "magic". you can't sleep, and you lie on your bed all exhausted, and there's nothing you can do, cuz you're done with your stuff, but you can't sleep and you are too tired to do anything else. so what else is there for you to do? Stare at the ceiling, tussle ard in your bed, finding the perfect position to blast yourself to dreamland, but futile of course.

there you go, a perfect illustration of the effects of caffeine.

ok, break's over, time to go back to the notes. 5am already..

I was reading the daily papers in the toilet one day, and i came across this YOG article. It was an article dated 26th August 2010. Here are a few pictures i wanted to share:

What a wonderful rainy evening. Y'know i really enjoy these cold rainy nights. but anyway, enough of the rainy weather. I've been frequenting the Queenstown area these few days. Mainly cuz it's one of the very few places left in S'pore with memories of its past. Just sitting there with my parents or friends and enjoying a bowl of icy BoBoChaCha with a metal spoon is just peaceful. It's really funny how people never really appreciate these type of places only until word is out that demolition is on its way. It's even funnier how a person like me would spend time in these sort of places. Maybe it's because it really reminds me of Hillview.

Hillview was the first estate i ever resided in, and i stayed there till i was around 5 or 6years old. can't really remember much though. The last time i went to Hillview while it still existed, was when i was around 12 years old. i remember i was cycling with my dad, and stopped by the hawker centre for a drink. little did i know i would miss it that much.

But everytime i set foot in the Margaret Drive Area, it just felt like home. it felt so familiar. it felt so much like Hillview. Man, those were the days..

Like i always said, we won't appreciate something until it's gone.

Ok, it's evident that i can't really be bothered with this blog anymore. BUT NO, i'm not gonna give up just yet. i'm just gonna give myself time to recuperate from excessive forced blogging.

so anyway, just a brief roundup of what's been going on these few days.

Been rotting at home almost everyday now that it's the YOG break. wake up in the mid afternoon, have brunch, watch man vs wild, watch top gear, have dinner, msn, fb, observe plants grow, watch more top gear and man vs wild, solitaire on my cellphone, and sleep. it's that simple. and it's pretty much the same everyday. oh, and dont get me wrong, i do fit in a few hours of revision here and there, but quite minimal i must say. but isn't that what holidays are all abt? rotting at home, embracing free time. ahhh.

so anyway, being a Singaporean, we often complain about things that either matter to us or not. and now that the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics Games are here in town, Singaporeans have something new to rant about. Volunteer's food quality, weird venues, overspending, etc etc etc. but why can't we over-pampered Singaporeans embrace what the nation has achieved instead of loss? ok look at it this way, Singapore is now on the world map for an international event, and even countries like Zimbabwe and Azerbaijan now know of our small red dot, and that we're not part of China. or or or, how about our world class infrastructure? aren't we proud that the world now knows of our advanced country? more so our existence.

Maybe next time, when we read the daily papers, or watch the news, we can start looking at Singapore as a success rather than a failure. After all, we are Singaporeans.
