I was at Baybeats'09 last night at the Esplanade, and was waiting in the crowd for the much awaited Anberlin set (i know la, scene kid la). So i waited and waited till everyone was perspiring like idiots. When the M.C. finally came on stage to get the crowd roaring, i got quite excited, then instead of handing the mic over to Mr. Anberlin, she handed it to Utt. First thing that came out of his mouth was "ARE YOU F*CKING READY?!". At the very moment after hearing that, I thought to myself, "Someone's gonna be in trouble...."

So much for Singapore being conservative.

If you're really pissed and frustrated about your little unfortunate situation, please do everyone else a favour and control yourself and think before blurting out amateur vulgarities. Especially if that person is someone who is trying to help you out. Seriously, get your facts right before going around hurting others' feelings. You dont even know shit to judge whether the info is true or not. If you really think it's crap you're receiving from the person, just ignore him, dont have go all out and tell him off right? and for your information, your excuse for the harsh comment was a sad attempt in trying to redeem yourself for your stupidity at that moment of time. pffft.. all the best salvaging the remaining friends you have left, only to find out they hate you behind your back.

Horner: Tram caused Webber's gearbox failure

Red Bull Racing have revealed that a freak set of circumstances may have been to blame for Mark Webber’s retirement from the Singapore Grand Prix. Webber was on-course to finish on the podium, however a mechanical failure – his first of the season – forced him to retire from the race on Lap 30.
Webber’s car limped to the pits with a broken gearbox after it had tried to select two gears at the same time. Team principal Christian Horner explained to Autosport that a bizarre set of coincidences might have been the cause of the issue.
“At Turn 13, the gearbox selected two gears at one,” Horner explained. “The moog valve controlling the gearshift had been triggered into changing to seventh while he was still in fifth yet after interrogating the software we can see that it at no time was allowing for this. We can see a momentary electrical surge at the precise moment which seems to have triggered the moog valve.
“It was exactly what [Toro Rosso] suffered from with Bourdais in Friday practice at exactly the same place. A tram line runs beneath the track at that corner and it seems as if static from a passing tram at the very moment Mark was in the corner passed through the ground.” - Cited from http://www.forumula1.net/2008/f1/f1-news/horner-tram-caused-webbers-gearbox-failure/

This is quite old news, but seriously, if you can't drive, or if your car sucks, don't go looking for a scapegoat for your sorry loss...

There's this film i watched some time back. It's called Spirited Away. It's a Japanese anime film that made it big in US, japan and every where else on earth cuz it's just too good, so if you do not know the film, you've been living in the dark. Following are screen shots and pictures of the wonderful film:

Yubaba, the VERY unfriendly old witch

Yubaba scolding the very pitiful Chihiro who's the main character

Yubaba again.

You're probably wondering why there are so many pictures of Yubaba and not enough of Chihiro and none of the handsome Prince Haku. Well, the reason is cuz i realised that my dearest lecturer looks exactly like her. Here's her picture. How? Look alike not?

Everything isn't going as expected in my life. It's sort of like, my social circle is crumbling down, piece by piece. I really don't know what people have been doing behind me, or what i've been doing wrong... So sick and tired of seeing my friends(or old friends) leave me or stab me in my back. Even my closer friends are starting to leave me to rot..

This is the chick from the Singtel ad. Damn cute please.

This is Rachel Kum (with a bald guy). She's Miss Singapore Universe'09

This is her trying to pose for a candid shot (pathetic, but still hot)

Ignore her forced smiles, and she's the prettiest person on the face of the Earth.

2 topics i would like to address in this blog post

Friendship

I personally feel people nowadays take the term "friendship" too casually. Phrases such as "You're really my best friend man" and "you're a real bro man" are being used too commonly. I admit i've made my fair share of mistakes, but at least i'm aware of it and i try to reduce the habit, some out there don't really think about it before saying it. Some, know it and use it as a means of getting what they want. How disgusting. The word 'best friend' should only be used for the minority few you meet in life that stand out.

Country

Commonly heard is "Singapore gah-men damn money hungry". But do these people think twice before they say such things? It's really obvious schemes such as ERP and GST has its own purpose. ERP increases, Road tax decreases. C'mon, the gah-men has their means of getting cash, and why would they wanna make their people angry? People should start embracing and appreciating their government and country. I won't disagree that the government made very bad mistakes before, but bear in mind there's no perfect government out there. We should be thankful we didn't get Chee Soon Juan and Chiam See Tong. And whenever i think of how Singapore started out as a third world country to become one of the most, if not most successful nation in S.E.A, i always feel proud and patriotic about it.

The following is a blogpost copied from http://majullahsingapura.blogspot.com

"One significant factor that contributes to your happiness is loving your country. If you dislike your country, think of migrating and see only faults in this and that everyday, how can you really be happy. Hopefully you can go to the country you want and it welcomes you and treats you well.

Loving your country doesn’t mean you like everything and have no complaints. No, you may still complain and find faults in many things. However, you also see the positive side of things you don’t like. You know that in certain things there is no permanent ideal solution.

You still feel the stress in your life and in your job. But you are also grateful for the things that you have and you appreciate the love and help your family members and friends give you.

You may like to have gambling and prostitution banned altogether, but you know it cannot be done and you live with it. You understand that it is not possible for you to like every policy.

The grass looks greener on the other side. But when you go to the other side, you realize that it is the grass in Singapore that is greener. Your home is Singapore.
"

And with that, i wish all of you out there a very happy National Day.

oh, and happy birthday to Yap Zhi Shen who today turns 18, while Singapore turns 44.
