The Second Blog

Thoughts that linger in the mind of a Singaporean teen.

I was thinking to myself one day of how people judge so easily:

"That guy is so ugly"

"She is damn selfish"

"He's such a hypocrite..."

It's just funny how some people dare to judge others when we're all imperfect. What is it that makes others so inferior to us? Judgment of others just shows how insecure a person is; constantly searching for flaws in an unsuspecting victim just to pull him down so that we can sound superior. Sometimes, we rally in a few friends to further magnify the victim's negative traits and we all have a good laugh about it. Funny right? How people find temporary happiness at the expense of others when they themselves are the sad ones who have no luck finding peace at heart. It's almost like, sweeping the dust under the carpet. Such sad people...

You know what else is funny? How people treat this as a trend. The words "bitching" and "gossiping" both sound so... sophisticated don't they?

and when we're all done "Tsk-ing" others after reading this, we all start to realise it pretty much sums up all our personalities.

Sometimes i kinda envy people with such perfect time management.

They manage to balance out studies and play, and somehow have enough of both..enough to score them perfect A-s and actually enjoying the time they get to screw ard.

and when they grow up, they get richer and richer without much pain cuz they accept the amount of work they have to do (otherwise they wouldn't be doing it anymore) and they enjoy the play time they get.

I mean seriously, how is that even possible?

and i feel i've been a more boring blogger this year..

Ok first blogpost of 2010! (10 days after new years day)

anyway, so far so good i guess, but dont worry, i'm not gonna go on and on about my 2010 resolutions and whatnots. I'm gonna blog about sth that struck me in the middle of an ordinary conversation.

"Look at that bird! So cute!" was what i heard earlier today. and the first thing that struck my mind, was "oh, that sounded a little wrong" and that i started thinking about how the society of today so easily turns ordinary words into words that have alternative meanings. It's almost like stuffing hidden meanings inside words that meant nothing more than itself decades back (I sound so senior). So i've decided to share a few of these words by listing them down as follows:

  • Cock (Animal)
  • Mat/Minah (Boy/Girl)
  • Thambi (Brother)
  • Bhai (Brother)
  • Chick (Animal)
  • Lame (Inability to walk)
  • Balls/Nuts (From Latin testiculus)
Dont accuse me of being a racist or a sicko, but c'mon, i bet all of you know what i mean. I just feel such words give the people of today wrong ideas of anything and everything. Nonsense? Tell me if this sounds wrong:

"The Pleasure of Sucking"

This is the latest slogan for Chupa Chups' lollipops. Firstly, pleasure already gives an impression, and sucking needs no explanation.
